Q: Will we continue to sell the current THGA and HGA graphite tubes?
A: Yes. The current THGA and HGA tubes will still be available to sell.
Q: What are the differences between the current graphite tubes and the new Advanced Platform tubes?
A: A redesign of the platform within the tube has significantly reduced contact between the sample platform and the tube walls.
Q: What benefit does the new platform design provide?
A: With the reduced tube wall contact, the sample platform is heated via thermal radiation instead of thermal conduction. This improves sample atomization, RSD’s and long term stability.
Q: Why would a customer switch to the new Advanced Platform tube?
A: The new Advanced Platform tubes represent a price/performance advantage for customers and leverages new manufacturing techniques for reliability.
Q: Do the new Advanced Platform tubes perform better for
certain applications?
A: The Advanced Platform tubes offer an analytical improvement for some samples types and perform well with heavy organic matrices. Lead in whole blood is a typical example.
Q: Is there a plan to eliminate our current graphite tubes and replace them with the new Advanced Platform ones?
A: There is no plan to discontinue the current Integrated Platform tubes in the near future.
Q: Why are the new tubes called Advanced Platform?
A: The term “Advanced Platform” comes from both the improvements in design, but also from improvements in the manufacturing process itself.
Q: What will ship with new PinAAcle instruments?
A: To maintain continuity with historical performance reports and applications, the PinAAcle series of Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption instruments will continue to ship with the current Integrated Platform tube.
Q: Are the Advanced Platform tubes exclusive to PerkinElmer?
A: Yes, the new tubes are exclusive and cannot be purchased from other resellers except for authorized PerkinElmer dealers and distribution partners.
Q: Why did we choose to add the new Advanced Platformgraphite tubes in the product portfolio?
A: We added the new Advanced Platform graphite tubes in the product portfolio to continue to be the leader in atomic absorption. By adding the new tubes, we maintain our exclusive patents for our graphite tube design.
